21 Savage Speaks On Why He Didn't Reveal He Is British

21 Savage fans were a little stunned to find out the Atlanta based rapper was actually born in London England.

ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) detained him, leaving fans puzzled. Why would immigration officials target a well-known rapper. Once paperwork was released it was surprising to many, 21 Savage was born in England and came to the United States as a child. His presence in the country had been unauthorized, unknowingly making him in the states illegally.

Gaining his freedom from ICE custody was just the beginning. To resolve the situation; his status, he acquired official US citizenship. With a newfound legitimacy, he embarked on his inaugural European tour, performing in Paris and his birthplace, London. Notably, the music video for his popular track “redrum” was filmed on British grounds.

21 moved to Atlanta when he was 7 years old. The now 30 year-old expressed in a prior interview how he had to adapt to the states with the way he talked and dressed not letting anyone know where he was from, trying to fit in.

When asked why he kept his British background a secret? 21 Savage didn't hesitate to let his thoughts be known....

"WTF would I let yall know I'm here illegally?"

As straightforward as one can be 21 Savage no longer has to worry about immigration issues.
